Pursuing Dream Team Participates in WebX 2025 in Japan, Exploring the Future of Asia’s Web3 Industry
Tokyo, September 6, 2025 – Pursuing Dream Team participated in WebX 2025, one of Asia’s most influential Web3 industry conferences, held in Tokyo this week. The event brought together leading enterprises, policymakers, investors, and innovators to explore the future of Web3 development across Asia and beyond.
Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech, underscoring the strategic importance of Web3 for innovation and social reform. He highlighted how digital technologies, including blockchain, artificial intelligence, and Web3, can help address critical societal challenges such as regional governance and Japan’s declining birthrate.
Prime Minister Ishiba emphasized that the conference serves as a vital platform for dialogue among global Web3 leaders, accelerating new forms of collaboration and inspiring innovative projects. He expressed hopes that WebX 2025 would give rise to numerous Web3-driven initiatives that will inject new momentum into Japan’s digital transformation.
The Prime Minister also cited Japan’s expanding startup ecosystem, which has grown from 16,000 companies in 2021 to 26,000 in 2025, marking a net increase of 9,000 within four years. He pointed to innovative collaborations with African nations, including e-mobility battery swap projects in Kenya and Ethiopia, as examples of how Japanese startups are extending their global impact.
On the domestic front, Ishiba highlighted pioneering use cases such as Ama Town in Shimane Prefecture, where blockchain-based platforms are being applied to crowdsource solutions for local governance challenges, supported by local community tokens. He also noted how the upcoming Osaka Expo is actively incorporating Web3 technologies to showcase Japan’s digital innovation.
